AMS Tips – Stop your Wintery Windows Steaming Up

This wintery week we’re fixing your steamed up windows, with the help of Dave Hax. At this time of year, steamy windows are part of every morning commute, but they don’t have to be. Follow the steps in the video below and your car can be ready to go every morning as soon as you get in.

Empty sock

1. The first thing you will need is a pair of old socks, preferably washed and with no holes!

Cat litter

2. Next you need to buy yourself a bag of cat litter, preferably silica crystal.

3. Take an old reel of sticky tape and position at the opening of the sock.

4. Roll the top of the sock down over the tape reel to create a wide opening.

5. Fill up the sock with the cat litter, then tie a knot in the end.

6. Shake the litter down into the sock, leaving enough sock at the top to tie it off.

7. Tie a knot in the top of the sock, then feed it into the other sock and tie a knot in that one too.

8. Place the sock on the dashboard of your car for the best results.

9. If you don;t fancy driving around with a sock sausage on the dash, place under the front seat.

Give it a few days for the effects to really start working, and then fogged up windows will be a thing of the past!
